Blowin' In the Wind Our Hurricane Policy

At HARD ROCK HOTEL RIVIERA MAYA/Corporación Inmobiliaria KTRC, S.A. de C.V., we not only offer an unbelievable vacation experience at a surprisingly great value, but we also take the stress out of planning a vacation during Hurricane Season (June - November). 

Our Hurricane Policy makes it easy to decide that HARD ROCK HOTEL RIVIERA MAYA/Corporación Inmobiliaria KTRC, S.A. de C.V. is the right choice for all your vacation needs. In the event that a hurricane¹ directly hits HARD ROCK HOTEL RIVIERA MAYA/Corporación Inmobiliaria KTRC, S.A. de C.V.while you are on vacation, we will gladly offer a certificate² for a return stay to the original resort for the number of unused nights³.

Cancellations

There will be no penalties for all passengers scheduled to travel within 72 hours or less before a hurricane strikes. Guests must contact the travel professional they booked their vacation package through in order to cancel.

No Show

No show penalties will be waived up to 5 days after a hurricane strikes.

Early Departures

If guests are on vacation at and wish to depart early due to the threat of a hurricane, a certificate for the number of unused nights will be issued for the resort where the original reservation was made.

Relocations

In the event of a hurricane, guests have the option to transfer their reservation to an alternate all-inclusive Hard Rock Hotel (Hard Rock Hotel Cancun, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana, Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta or Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos / RCD Resorts SA de CV) that is not within the storm's projected path. Rooms will be offered at the same rate based on availability. In the event that rates are lower at the relocating hotel, a credit for the difference will be issued. 

Rescheduling

If guests wish to postpone their vacation and travel at a later date or if they are unable to travel because of flight cancellations, they have the following options:

 
  1. HARD ROCK HOTEL RIVIERA MAYA/Corporación Inmobiliaria KTRC, S.A. de C.V. will guarantee their original rate for travel up to 6 months. Guests wishing to utilize this option must reschedule their trip within 60 days following a storm. Rate protection will only apply to the number of original nights and number of guests booked. Additional nights or guests will be booked at current rate, and no name changes are allowed. Space is subject to availability and blackout periods apply. 

  2. Guests can arrive on first available flights after the storm and simply stay the same number of nights, confirmed at the same rate (based on availability).

  3. In case guests are unable to change their return flight home or cannot extend their vacations beyond their original dates due to work, school and other commitments, they can arrive on first available flights after the storm and stay until their original departure date, being charged only for used nights.

Extending

Guests who are the hotel and unable to depart due to airport closures and/or flight cancellations will be offered accommodations and all services at a preferential rate, to be paid directly at the hotel. These inclement weather rates are extended as a special courtesy due to the situation, subsidized by the resort and not available otherwise.

 

¹Policy will go into effect once the US National Weather Center issues a Hurricane Watch to the area or the hurricane directly hits HARD ROCK HOTEL RIVIERA MAYA/Corporación Inmobiliaria KTRC, S.A. de C.V

²Certificate will be valid for travel for up to 1 year from the original travel date. It is nontransferable, nor is it redeemable for cash. Space is subject to availability and blackout periods apply. 

³Excludes day of departure. Airfare and transfers are not included.

This policy is for individual travel booked directly with the property; it does not apply to groups or 3rd parties.

Groups contracted directly with HARD ROCK HOTEL RIVIERA MAYA/Corporación Inmobiliaria KTRC, S.A. de C.V or AIC Hotel Group shall refer to their specific contract policies. Airline ticket holders are subject to airlines' policies and guidelines.

Bookings made through Tour Operators or 3rd party websites must contact their original booking source for information on the hurricane policy for their reservation.
